Fall is quickly replacing the sweltering summer heat. Fragrances of apple cider and pumpkin spice waffle out of bakeries and coffee shops on crisp autumn mornings. Vibrant orange and red leaves encircle us as they fall from towering trees during evening walks.
Escaping to one of our luxury vacation rentals in Skaneateles during the fall is always top of the list for local New Yorkers wanting to soak up some of the beautiful fall scenery before bundling up for winter. This charming area was described as one of the best places in the country to “embrace crisp air, bright shades, and recreational pursuits,” by US News. Whether you prefer hiking to waterfalls, fishing on the banks of a lake, or sampling some of central New York’s best wines, you can find it all centrally located in this quiet, picturesque town.
Perfect Sunset Views
Several of our Skaneateles luxury vacation rentals are located right on the shores of Skaneateles Lake and boast beautiful sunset views at the end of each day. Burtis Point, among other locations, even has a dock for your boat and private access to this sought-after lakefront. No boat, no problem! 2 kayaks and a paddle board are waiting for you along with a fire pit for gathering around with your family while you make plans for the next day.
Other properties, like the Samuel Adams (the former summer home of Samuel Hopkins Adams), have 7 bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate 14 guests, making it the perfect getaway for you and your best friends. The indoor stone fireplace is a perfect place to enjoy the wine from a local winery while watching the sunset through the picture frame windows that overlook the lake. Or play a game of pool while enjoying a drink from a local brewery in the billiard room.
Something for Everyone
Our Skaneateles Lake vacation rentals are centrally located to everything you want on vacation. The John D. Barrow Art Gallery and Gallery 54 are both well-loved by art enthusiasts in the area. Last Shot Distillery boasts the first barreled whiskey produced in the county since Prohibition was lifted and is still producing bourbons and spirits that wow their patrons. Spas, yoga studios, and antique stores are sprinkled throughout the downtown area, just a 10-minute drive down the road.
