running, there are several 5K races and other events scheduled in the last half of August and into September, including the 5K Run for the Woods and 1K Fun Run in nearby Marcellus, NY. For spectators who love horses, the Skaneateles Polo Club plays on Sundays in August, competing against various rivals.
Don’t forget about boating on Lake Skaneateles, fishing from any of the public piers or simply hiking through the wonderful, wooded areas surrounding the lake and providing cover for a multitude of woodland creatures. The Skaneateles Festival, held this year from August 1 to August 24, remains one of the most popular events of the year. It’s the perfect way to finish up the summer.
